The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh, Saeed Khatibzadeh, on Thursday night expressed his deep sympathy over the mine explosion in Russia and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of this tragic accident.

Iran Press/ Europe: More than 52 people have been killed in an explosion and fire at the Listvyazhnaya mine near the Kuzbass region in Russia's Kemerovo province (Siberia) on Thursday morning.

A total of 285 people were at the mine at the time of the accident, Sergei Tsivilyov, the governor of Kemerovo, said hours ago.

Dozens of people were also injured in the incident.

The Russian government has launched an investigation into the incident.
