Tehran (IP) – In a telephone conversation with his Japanese counterpart on Thursday, Iran's Foreign Minister said Tehran welcomed serious negotiations and a good agreement in Vienna and that the other parties must show goodwill.
Iran Press/ Iran news: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian congratulated Yoshimasa Hayashi over his appointment as Japan's new Foreign Minister and said Iran was ready to expand ties with Japan in various fields, including economy, trade, humanitarian issues, environment, and health.
Amir-Abdollahian pointed to the underway Vienna talks and said Iran welcomed serious negotiations and a good agreement and that the other parties must show goodwill.
"The US officials, on the one hand, want to negotiate and return to the JCPOA, but on the other hand, impose new sanctions on Iranian individuals and institutions at the same time."
He also appreciated Japan over the humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan.
The Japanese Foreign Minister, for his part, announced his countries readiness to expand ties between the two counties in the fields of health, environment, and tourism, among other areas.
Yoshimasa Hayashi also stressed the importance of forming an inclusive government in Afghanistan, respecting the rights of women and ethnic minorities, and eradicating terrorism in the country.
